Roof Rack Installation
Note: Installation with screws is recommended for a more secure attachment. Alternatively, gluing (with E6000) is possible, but it may provide less secure fastening.
Installation with screws:
Requirements:
Handheld Drill
Drill Bit (Diameter 1.5mm, 2mm, 1/64”, or 5/64”)
Tape (optional)
Axial AX24 Body
4x screws (included)
Step 1: Pre-Drilling
Use the provided installation guide.
Predrill the 4x holes with a 1.5mm or 1/64” bit.
A 2mm or 5/64” bit is acceptable but provides less material for the screw head.
Step 2: Alignment
Align the guide with the body.
Center the rear of the guide with the end of the radius behind the body’s window (refer to the white line in the image below to confirm recommended positioning)
Use tape to secure the guide in place to lock in alignment.
Step 3: Drilling
Hold the guide very firmly (or use a clamp). This is essential to prevent any movement during the drilling process to avoid damaging your vehicle’s body.
Drill the 4 holes in your body from the top, using the guide.
Exercise caution to avoid damaging the body.
Install at your own risk.
Step 4: Attaching the Roof Rack
Once all 4 holes are drilled, screw on the Roof Rack.
You're ready to roll!
Enjoy and have some fun!
Troubleshooting Gluing Challenges:
Encountering any difficulties with the adhesive process? Here are some effective tips to ensure a successful bond:
Optimal Glue Selection:
Recommendation: While we've experienced consistent success with E6000, if you're using a different glue and facing issues, consider switching to E6000 for optimal results.
Double Application:
Suggestion: Give it another shot! Applying a bit more glue during your second attempt may enhance the bonding process.
Prerequisites for Successful Bonding:
Tip: Prioritize cleanliness! Ensure both the vehicle shell and Roof Rack surfaces are thoroughly clean before applying the adhesive. A clean surface promotes a stronger and more reliable bond.
Alternative Attachment Method:
Option: If gluing proves challenging, an alternative method is to opt for screwing on the Roof Rack. This provides a secure and straightforward attachment, eliminating the need for adhesive application.
